“By The Time I Get To Arizona”

Intriguing Game- Week Two

Washington Football Team at Arizona Cardinals

Washington: They surprised many people in week one. I don’t think anyone saw them coming from behind and winning that football game. This is exactly why I call the NFC East the most unpredictable division in the league because you never know what’s going to happen. They were down by 17 points to the Philadelphia Eagles. What happens next? They just fight to get themselves back in the game. That entire defense would get a game ball from me. They were able to sack Carson Wentz eight times. You read that correctly. I liked what I saw from Dwayne Haskins. He looked poised and took control of the game. But most importantly, he didn’t turn the football over. You probably didn’t think they’d be atop the NFC East right now, right? On Sunday, they’ll face Kyler Murray in Arizona.

Cardinals: I was impressed with them in week one. Everytime they play the San Francisco 49ers, they always give them a run for their money. I can say they play each team in their division extremely tough. They were just the better team than the 49ers on Sunday and it showed. Talk about making a splash, the acquisition of DeAndre Hopkins was worth the hype. In his debut, he caught 14 passes for 151 yards. He ran circles on the San Fran secondary. Kyler Murray can take that next step this season. When I watch him play, I’m reminded of Russell Wilson with how he moves. As a defense, they have everything in place to be a solid group. A consistent rusher in Chandler Jones, Jordan Hicks at linebacker, then Budda Baker and Patrick Peterson. It’s the home opener for them in week two.

Washington X-Factor: Jonathan Allen– You better have game if you have two first names. With Jack Del Rio, he can become a serious problem. Chase Young will draw attention for sure because of who he is. I’ve seen Jonathan push blockers into the pocket, then sack the quarterback. He’s a force when consistent.

Cardinals X-Factor: Jordan Hicks– The man in the middle. He’s always attacking the line of scrimmage and that’s what you want in your middle linebacker. Besides getting in on tackles, he can drop back in coverage to get that interception for your defense. He does it all for the Cardinals defense.

Final Thoughts: Who would’ve imagined that this would be one of the best games on the slate? Both teams were underdogs in week one. Here they are both at 1-0. Washington will have their hands full in trying to contain Kyler Murray. He’s a lot faster than Wentz is. This will be the first meeting between Dwayne Haskins and Kyler. Maybe this is the start of another quarterback rivalry.

Prediction: Cardinals 30 Washington 21
