2025 Recap: Last season was the best I’ve seen them look in quite some time and how long have we’ve been waiting to say they’re back? When this program is relevant, the entire landscape that is college football is buzzing. After a quality regular season, they were able to sneak into the playoffs where they upset the Texas A&M Aggies in the first round, punched the Ohio State Buckeyes in the mouth in the second round, fought and won a nail biter against the Ole Miss Rebels and made it to the National Title game which was in their own stadium, but fell short to the Indiana Hoosiers to end their season.
Key Departures: QB Carson Beck, WR Keelan Marion, WR C.J. Daniels, EDGE Ahkeem Mesidor & EDGE Reuben Bain Jr.
2026 Prediction: I’m very high on this team entering the year and this is the prime opportunity to show that last year wasn’t a fluke with the Miami Hurricanes. Mario Cristobal has something brewing in South Florida and I like for them to win the ACC title game and get back to the College Football Playoff. Out is Carson Beck and replacing him is Duke transfer, Darian Mensah. Returning is standout Running Back Mark Fletcher and Wide Receiver Malachi Toney. I can’t wait to see how this defense will look to replace both Mesidor and Bain up front on the defensive line. The Canes will also return an experienced secondary. When I think of “The U”, I think of them having athletes, but this team now packs a punch meaning they’re a physical unit!
