2025 Review: Under Jeff Traylor, they were able to secure their sixth consecutive winning season. Their offense was one of the most explosive in the conference with Owen McCown as their starting Quarterback and they also leaned heavily on playmakers such as Will Henderson and Devin McCuin. Despite some early season struggles on the road and a defensive overhaul, the Roadrunners were able to finish the season strong with a bowl win over FIU.
Key Departures: WR Devin McCuin, EDGE Kenny Ozowalu & S Jimmy Wyrick.
2026 Prediction: I’m picking this UTSA team to be better this year and win a share of the regular season conference title. As long as Owen McCown is under center, this team will win football games. It will take a collective effort to replace Devin McCuin who was the number one Wide Receiver as they lost him to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the transfer portal. How will this defense improve? As I mentioned, they had an overhaul last year, but a full year together will make them better. Their schedule includes a non-conference showdown against the Texas Longhorns and some key in conference games against the Navy Midshipmen and North Texas.
