2025 Recap: I thought they were god enough to get to the College Football Playoff, but that’s just me. They won 12 games, went 8-1 in the Big 12 and finished as a top 15 team. Kalani Sitake had this group of young men believing they were just as good as the cream of the crop in the sport. This offense averaged 31 points per game and had one of the most underrated Running Backs in the country in LJ Martin, an offensive line that could dominate up front and the defense allowed 19 points per game. The Cougars’ season ended with a win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the Pop Tarts Bowl.

Key Departures: Defensive Coordinator Jay Hill, WR LaMason Waller, OT Jake Griffin & LB Max Alford.

2026 Prediction: This BYU team has gone 23-4 in their last two seasons and have recorded back-to-back finishes in the top 15 as well. The next goal for this team is simple, earn a trip to the College Football Playoff and with a favorable schedule and 11 players returning from last season, this looks possible. Bear Bachmeier returns as the starting Quarterback and he had a standout season last year. 7 of the 11 starters that are returning are on the defensive side and that side of the ball shouldn’t have too many questions. A healthy LJ Martin should make all the difference for this team.
