2020 Campus Cruise: Big 12 Prediction

2019 Recap: They won their fifth consecutive conference title and made the playoffs for the third straight year. It’s safe to say that Lincoln Riley has become one of, if not, the best offensive minded coach in the country. He had Baker Mayfield in 2017, Kyler Murray in 18 and Jalen Hurts last year. Under first year defensive coordinator Alex Grinch, I saw a more improved Oklahoma defense which has been their biggest question mark. They lost one game last season when they played Kansas State. Their biggest win of the year came in Waco when they played the Baylor Bears. What a come from behind victory on the road. Each year that the Sooners have made the playoffs, they’ve come away on the losing side which is what happened when they played LSU.

Notable Losses: QB Jalen Hurts, WR Ceedee Lamb, ILB Kenneth Murray.

2020 Outlook: I don’t see them missing a beat. The Oklahoma Sooners will clinch their sixth straight conference title. We’ve seen Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray and Jalen Hurts. The world will now be introduced to a quarterback named Spencer Rattler. I can’t wait to see what this kid does in live game action. I’ve seen the videos of his work outs (if you haven’t, please go watch). To help the young quarterback, a running game is necessary. Kennedy Brooks returns to anchor the backfield. The offensive line will return center Creed Humphrey. The defense once again will be the determining factor whether they can compete for a championship. Defensive coordinator Alex Grinch has this unit trending in the right direction.
