Campus Cruise- Big Ten East Prediction

2018 Recap: I was beginning to lose faith in the Ohio State Buckeyes at times last year. They would seem to play down to their competition, struggle to put games away and whenever they’ve done this, they would fall to a team they had no business losing too. That’s exactly what happened when they fell to Purdue last October. After that loss, everything worked out for them. They ended the season on a strong winning streak, defeated the rival Michigan to win the Big Ten East once again, defeated Northwestern in the Big Ten title game for their second straight conference championship. They ended their season winning the Rose Bowl against the Washington Huskies sending Urban Meyer out on a high note as he announced his retirement. Just when you think they were done, they found a way to get back to its winning ways to another trip to the Indy for the conference title and win it again for the second straight year.

Notable Losses: QB Dwayne Haskins, RB Mike Weber, WR Parris Campbell, WR Terry McLaurin, WR Johnnie Dixon. C Michael Jordan, T Isaiah Prince, DE Nick Bosa.

2019 Outlook: This is now the Ryan Day chapter. No Urban, no problem. I like the Ohio State Buckeyes to win the Big Ten East once again. J.K. Dobbins will return to help lead the running game, they bring back receivers K.J. Hill, Austin Mack and Chris Olave. The Buckeyes must improve defensively when it comes to giving up big plays down the field. One defensive player I’m looking forward to watching this year is defensive end Chase Young who I think can become one of the best defensive players in the Big Ten. It should be another exciting year for this team. They welcome Penn State to the shoe and have three intriguing road games against Cincinnati and Nebraska both in September and they close the regular season out in Ann Arbor against you guessed it, the Michigan Wolverines at the big house with a potential trip to the Big Ten title game on the line.
