Week Six Power Rankings (NCAA)

1. Alabama Crimson Tide– Another week, they are still on top. Is there anything else I really need to say? They are at the top of their game and will be until the playoffs roll around and they’ll be competing once again for another championship, a sixth in a decade.

2. Georgia Bulldogs– So much for a championship hangover, right? They’ve picked up where they left and continue to show why they are one of the three best teams in college football again this season. They face Vanderbilt this weekend before their big showdown with LSU next Saturday in Baton Rouge.

3. Clemson Tigers– Before the games started on Saturday last week, I had my usual Saturday morning conversation and stated that their game against Syracuse would be a close one and look what happened. Their worst nightmare took place when Trevor Lawrence went down with a hard hit to the head. They showed what makes a team great by coming back and winning the game.

4. Ohio State Buckeyes– Their defense gave up a ton of big plays last week against Penn State, but they made a big stop when they know they needed too. You truly see how much of an impact Nick Bosa has on that defense. They got another big-time performance by Dwayne Haskins as they got the win on the road in a crazy environment. They will cruise until their next big game in East Lansing against the Michigan State Spartans in November.

5. Notre Dame Fighting Irish– They are rolling right now and finally have an answer at quarterback. They’d be beyond silly to bench Ian Book. Last week against Stanford, he solidified his case to remain the starter. The defense also showed up. The only thing standing in the way of them possibly missing the playoffs is the Fighting Irish themselves.
