Troubled Seminoles?

Week one of college football is in the books. There were some shockers, some games shocked us, some teams picked up where they left off and some guys, unfortunately, saw their season come to an unfortunate end. Deondre Francois was expected to take that next step for Jimbo Fisher and the Florida State Seminoles this season. Florida State lost the game and unfortunately, they saw their quarterback go down with a knee injury. Francois will miss the rest of the year with a season ending torn Patella Tendon.

This is a big time loss for Jimbo Fisher and Florida State and I was expecting Deondre to really take that next step as a quarterback and I stated during the summer that in order for them to go far, he simply had to be at his best and now, their season is up in the air after this injury. He’s made a few comparisons to Cam Newton and has even been called “Baby Cam”. He has the ability to move the pocket to the left and the right and fire the ball down the field. He allows his receiver to get open and then he gets them the ball. For a young quarterback, I admire his pocket presence and awareness and the toughness he displays after taking some hits once the ball is out his hands. He can make all the throws and spreads the ball around to all his receivers. With a full year of experience starting underneath his belt, he was being considered as a dark horse Heisman candidate.

With Deondre Francois in the line up, not only would they win their division, but I feel they would also win the ACC title outright and they’re a playoff team. Now, everything is truly up in the air with them.
