2024 Recap: Everything looked to be promising at one point as they entered the year as the favorites to win the Big-12. Cam Rising unfortunately got injured and Kyle Whittingham had to turn to true Freshman, Issac Wilson who led the Utes to a 4-0 start in Cam’s absence. Cam would then return and unfortunately suffer a leg injury that kept him out the remainder of the season. The Utah Utes finished the 2024 season with a 5-7 record and only won two of their conference games on the schedule. This all turned out wrong after a strong 4-0 start out the gates.
Key Departures: QB Cam Rising, RB Jaylon Glover, RB Dijon Stanley, QB Issac Wilson, DB CJ Blocker.
2025 Prediction: They are viewed to be a contender once again in this conference, just as they were last year prior to the unfortunate let down. I can say this for every other team in the sport, but health will be key for them and having key guys on the field at 100 percent will always make a difference. Kyle Whittingham made the necessary changes on offense to fill those voids such as hiring Jason Beck to be the new Offensive Coordinator and dual-threat Quarterback, Devon Dampier will be taking over under center for the Utes. If these two additions can click, Utah will be back in the running for the conference title and a possible playoff berth.
