2024 Recap: They broke through last year and James Franklin in my opinion saved his job. They made it to the Big Ten title game where they fell short to the Oregon Ducks, but made the College Football Playoff for the first time and made it to the Semifinals where they fell short to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a classic game in Miami. Quarterback Drew Allar played some of his best football down the stretch and they still had the best Running Back tandem in the nation in Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton.
Key Departures: TE Tyler Warren & EDGE Abdul Carter.
2025 Prediction: I can see a log jam atop the Big Ten, but I don’t see many teams passing up the Penn State Nittany Lions and I expect them to be one of the top two teams in the conference when its all said and done. While they will be without Tyler Warren, the offense returns the three-headed monster of Drew Allar, Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton which will keep their offense afloat and on the other side of the ball, it will take a group effort to replace Abdul Carter. When Penn State has it clicking, they are a tough team to beat. I like for them to make the playoffs again for the second consecutive season.
