2024 Recap: I’ve been high on them these last few years and in consecutive seasons, they’ve been a game away from reaching the National Title game, but lost in the semifinal round back to back. In their first year in the SEC, the Texas Longhorns showed they can win games in several ways such as the shootout or as I refer to it, the track meet and run up and down the football field field on any offense, or, they can win those physical and grueling showdowns better known as the street fights. Their two losses last season came at the hands of the Georgia Bulldogs with one of those being in the SEC title game.
Key Departures: QB Quinn Ewers, RB Jaydon Blue, TE, Gunnar Helm, DB Jahdae Barron.
2025 Prediction: With Quinn gone, Steve Sarkisian will finally get to turn to Arch Manning as his starting Quarterback. He has been very sought out over the years and we will finally get to see him play this year! What will hurt Texas is themselves as they sometimes struggle to capitalize on opportunities at times, but I don’t see many teams in the SEC beating them or challenging them too often. Yes, they did lose some key personnel, but filled those voids with the transfer portal. Quintrevion Wisner will be the starting Running Back replacing Jaydon Blue. The Longhorns have a huge game right out the gates in week one in Columbus when they take on the Ohio State Buckeyes in a rematch of the Cotton Bowl in January.
